One of the industries that has seen an unexpected boom as a result of the pandemic lockdowns has been cycling. Founded in 1974 in Morgan Hill, just south of San Jose, California, Specialized Bicycle Components has become a leading producer of high-end cycles and accessories used by, among others, Mark Cavendish, who tied the all-time record for the most stage wins by an individual during this year's Tour de France. Barbara Schroeck, the company's Finance Manager, took to the stage yesterday at the Planful Perform virtual conference to talk about its work to automate workforce planning to help support the business as it scales to meet the surge in demand.
