Opera Launches AI-Powered Neon Browser for Windows and macOS Users
extremetech.comOpera has announced early access for its new browser, Neon, which uses AI to control tabs and browsing activities on Windows and macOS. Opera considers Neon its first browser built to act instead of simply responding, with an AI system designed to open websites, assess online security risks, find the lowest price on a searched product, and more.
The browser is currently available through an early bird offer priced at $59.90 for nine months. Once the offer ends, the price will jump to $19.90 per month for new users. The company has started sending invites via email and social media; you have to have an access code to join.
Neon is the latest in a series of AI web browsers. Last week, Perplexity made its Comet browser free for everyone with an optional $5 monthly news plan. Microsoft Edge also has a Copilot mode for AI-driven tasks.
