Oddball AMD RX 6500 GPU Appears, Long After RX 6500 XT
extremetech.comLet’s take a break from burned GPU power connectors and cutting-edge hardware to marvel at the Radeon RX 6500, which seems to have made its first appearance long after the Radeon RX 6500 XT. As Videocardz points out, the RX 6500 was rumored to follow the XT version, but it…didn’t. Until now, apparently, thanks to Chinese graphics card maker Zephyr, which appears to have launched one.
We suspect Zephyr hopes buyers will like the mini-ITX card for what it doesn’t have: an external power connector. The Zephyr Dual ITX draws just 55W, making it suitable for a value PC build. It won’t have the chops for serious gaming, but it’s not meant to. With just 4GB of DDR6 memory, the card is probably best used for tasks that aren’t compute-intensive. Still, it ought to be fine for basic entertainment purposes.
