Microsoft unveils thinner, lighter Surface Laptop and Surface Pro, starting at $799


Microsoft has expanded its Copilot+ PC family with two new Surface devices: the 12-inch Surface Pro tablet and the 13-inch Surface Laptop. Powered by Qualcomm's Snapdragon X Plus SoC, they are smaller, thinner, and lighter than their predecessors, prioritizing portability and affordability.

12-inch Surface Pro (2025)

The Surface Pro boasts a 12-inch PixelSense LCD with a 2196 x 1464 resolution, 90Hz dynamic refresh rate, and 10-point multitouch. Powered by a Snapdragon X Plus processor, it features an 8-core CPU and an integrated 45 TOPS NPU for on-device processing of AI workloads.

The new Surface Pro comes with 16GB of LPDDR5X memory and two storage options: 256GB and 512GB. As part of Microsoft's renewed focus on sustainability, users can easily upgrade the storage. Microsoft didn't specify the battery capacity but claimed it would offer up to 12 hours of web browsing and 16 hours of video playback.
