Microsoft ropes in Sam Altman, Greg Brockman and their OpenAI colleagues for new AI venture

As the weekend crisis at OpenAI ensued in the recruitment of Emmett Shear as the interim CEO of the company, Microsoft made a strategic master move by roping in outgoing Sam Altman and team for a new, in-house advanced AI research group.
