Microsoft Raises Xbox Console Prices Again


Microsoft is yet again raising the prices of its Xbox consoles in the United States starting Oct. 3. This is 2025's second Xbox price bump, with the first occurring globally in May. This time, however, the hike is limited to US buyers. Accessories, including controllers and headsets, are also unaffected.

The new retail prices will place the Xbox Series S 512GB at $399.99 (up from $379.99) and the 1TB version at $449.99 (from $429.99). The digital-only Xbox Series X will rise to $599.99 (from $549.99), and the standard Xbox Series X will be $649.99 (from $599.99)—a jarring 8.3% hike.

Microsoft said the new prices are spurred by "changes in the macroeconomic environment." Some experts believe US import tariffs played a key role, EuroGamer reports.
