Microsoft Raises Prices for SharePoint Server, Exchange Server, and CAL Suite


Microsoft has announced some big changes to the pricing and licensing of its on-premises server products, which will take effect in July and August 2025. The company says these updates are needed to support ongoing maintenance and updates for customers who continue to use on-premises solutions.

Starting July 1, 2025, prices for standalone on-premises server products, such as SharePoint Server, Exchange Server, and Skype for Business Server, whose consumer version was discontinued by Microsoft on May 5 this year, will increase by 10%.

At the same time, Microsoft will also offer the Exchange Server Subscription Edition and Skype for Business Server Subscription Edition to everyone.

These new subscription editions will take a “version-less” approach, meaning they will receive regular updates instead of following a 3-year version cycle.
