Microsoft Issues Emergency Windows Update To Fix Reset & Recovery Failures

A few weeks ago, Microsoft released its usual monthly patch update on Tuesday, fixing 100 security flaws and a vulnerability already exploited in the wild. However, there have been widespread complaints about the update breaking some crucial recovery and reset functionalities. To address these complaints, Microsoft has now released an "out-of-band (OOB) update KB5066189" to fix the issue. Hence, Microsoft has encouraged all users impacted by these flaws to update their devices ASAP.

Users who encountered this issue could not successfully reset or recover their Windows OS. Microsoft specified three instances where users have experienced such an issue in a blog post.
