Meta Scrambles to Explain Catastrophic AI Failures During 'Display' Smart Glasses Demo

During the first public demonstration of its new Ray-Ban Meta "Display" smart glasses, Meta and its CEO, Mark Zuckerberg, suffered a series of embarrassing issues in which the AI failed to respond at all, or responded in bizarre fashion. Although Zuckerberg initially blamed it on the Wi-Fi, Meta's CTO has now provided a few other reasons for the problems. It wasn't the Wi-Fi but bad traffic routing, apparently.

In the demonstration, an influencer was asked to create a new sauce for a meal they hadn't prepared before. So they asked Meta's AI to help them do it. Not only did the AI take a long time to respond, but it often gave erroneous instructions, seemed to misread the requests it was being given, and was generally unhelpful.
