Meta May Launch a Camera-Equipped Smartwatch in September

The project, which was paused in 2022, has reportedly restarted, with China's Huaqin Technology providing manufacturing support. The device is said to pair with Meta’s forthcoming AI glasses and could be one of the first major smartwatches to boast a camera, 9to5Mac reports.
The smartwatch is expected to focus more on AI and "extended reality" (XR) than the usual health tracking. Early reports reveal the camera could give the device AI-based features that help it stand out from current smartwatches from Apple, Samsung, Google, OnePlus, and Garmin. One supply chain document suggests the device will have a 5MP camera at the front for video calls and a 12MP camera on the back for photography.
