Meta Is Attempting to Bring Privacy-Focused AI to WhatsApp, Mirroring Apple's Approach

This new system, called Private Processing, was created to let WhatsApp users use AI tools such as message summarization and to write suggestions without exposing their private chats to Meta or any third party, as reported by Hacker News.
Private Processing works by sending user requests for AI actions through a secure cloud environment known as a Trusted Execution Environment. When a user asks for an AI task, the request is encrypted and processed in this protected space.
