How Tessl is re-imagining AI-driven development - and why

AI code completion tools have become all the rage in the software development community. Depending on who you listen to they might increase productivity ten-fold and possibly replace developers altogether. Tessl is taking a different approach altogether, recognizing that experienced developers are essential for building trust in new software development paradigms.

I recently sat down with Simon Maple, Founding Developer Relations at Tessl, to discuss this vision for the future at OpenUK’s State of Open Conference. One essential takeaway is that the current crop of LLMs and other AI tools are still a work in progress, and some excel better in some areas than others.
