How EU Plans to Improve Its Global Cyber Ecosystem

Europe's push for cyber sovereignty has moved from policy rhetoric to funded action. The European Cybersecurity Competence Centre has mobilized more than EUR 1.1 billion, or more than $1.2 billion across EU contributions, member state funding and industry investment, targeting technologies most critical to the continent's digital resilience, said Luca Tagliaretti, executive director of the European Cybersecurity Competence Centre.

Artificial intelligence and quantum top the center's investment agenda, with parallel tracks for AI-driven cybersecurity tools and post-quantum transition readiness, he said.
