Google to Shut Down Project-Tracking App in December 2025


Google is sunsetting its five-year-old project-tracking tool, Tables, by ending support on Dec. 16, 2025.

Google's Tim Gleason initially launched Tables through Area 120, the company's internal incubator. The service quickly grew in scope and was brought into Google Cloud in 2021, helping users with project management, customer service tracking, recruiting, product development, IT operations, and more. Eventually, Gleason moved on to NotebookLM, then left Google in 2024.

Now the company is warning that users should export or migrate their Tables data to other Google-associated tools, such as Sheets or AppSheet, before December rolls around. Google hasn't commented on why it's saying goodbye to Tables, but an FAQ from Sept. 1 notes that AppSheet, its no-code app-building platform, "offers a data modeling and interaction experience that will be familiar to Tables users."
