Google Officially Rolls Out ‘AI Mode’ in Search


Google has announced the rollout of a new "AI Mode" for its flagship search engine. The company describes it as a complete reimagining of how people find information online. This new option is now available in the United States and lets users interact with Google Search through a chatbot interface powered by the Gemini. Basically, users can now have more conversational and detailed responses to queries than the traditional list of blue links that has defined Google for decades—something Perplexity has been doing for quite some time now.

Sundar Pichai, Google's CEO, said that this update changes the nature of how people interact with search, with early trials showing users asking more complex and longer questions.
