Google Introduces Video Summaries to NotebookLM

Google has announced some new updates to NotebookLM, its web-based research and note-taking tool. The juiciest among them are the new video overviews, which aim to provide visual explanations of complex topics.

The slides in each video overview combine images, diagrams, quotes, and figures taken directly from users' documents. Users can customize videos by naming topics, describing their goals, or defining the audience. The tool adjusts based on whether the user is new to a topic or already familiar and looking for specific insights.

Google has also changed the Studio panel in NotebookLM. Previously, only one of each content type, like mind maps or audio overviews, could be created per notebook. That limit has been removed, hence users can now store and access multiple outputs of the same type in one notebook.
