Google Introduces AI-Generated Podcasts From Discover Feed

Google has a new experimental feature called "Daily Listen" that turns users' Discover feed into personalized AI-generated podcasts. This Search Labs experiment, currently available to Android and iOS users in the United States, can be a new way for users to consume personalized content in audio format, as reported by 9to5Google.

Daily Listen generates 5-minute audio episodes based on the user's interests and search history, basically creating a tailored news digest. The feature analyzes users' Google Discover feed and search activity to curate relevant content, which the AI then turns into audio summaries. Alongside the audio, users can access a text transcript, like the lyrics of the songs.

The new feature also has playback controls, including play/pause, rewind, and skip options. Additionally, Daily Listen displays related stories for each topic. Users can provide thumbs up or down ratings.
