Generative AI in Education and Industry: What the Data Really Says

While public buzz around Generative AI (GenAI) often swings between fear and fascination, a new report offers something far more grounded: data.

The 2024 study Beyond the Hype: “A Comprehensive Review of Current Trends in Generative AI Research, Teaching Practices, and Tools” draws on a wide mix of sources: surveys of educators and developers, systematic literature reviews, and interviews with toolmakers and researchers. It is backed by several major universities and was presented at the ACM ITiCSE conference.
