Gemini’s New Drawing Tool Lets You Point to Exactly What You Want Edited in a Photo


Google is testing adding markup tools that let you draw directly on photos you upload to Gemini. This update comes after leaks earlier this year hinted at the change. The new functionality appears in both the Android app and the web version on Chrome. When you attach an image to Gemini, you can now access a drawing interface. This then lets you encircle specific areas or write notes on the picture before you send your prompt, as reported by Android Authority.

This helps Gemini understand exactly what you want. For example, you can circle a specific object or even a famous personality and ask for details about them, or mark a section you want to edit, like add a flying bird in a particular section of an image by encircling that area.
