Gamers Get FSR4 Working on RDNA2 for an Image Quality Boost

Their tinkering has made it possible to get the latest FidelityFX Super Resolution (FSR) 4 working on older RDNA 2 cards from the RX 6000 generation, even though it was never designed to work with them. Although performance does degrade using the newer model without appropriate AI accelerators, image quality is notably improved, opening up new options for gamers running older AMD cards.
AMD's FSR4 is the latest version of its dynamic, AI-powered upscaling model. Unlike previous generations of FSR, which were almost universal in their support across all AMD, Nvidia, and Intel GPUs, the latest version is for AMD's most recent RDNA 4 GPUs in the RX 9000 generation.
