Early M4 iPad Air Benchmarks Point to Pro-Like Performance


Preliminary benchmarks for Apple's new M4 iPad Air offer a peek at how the tablet performs against both the previous iPad Air and the current iPad Pro. Geekbench 6 results (spotted by MacRumors) for the 13‑inch M4 iPad Air average 3,576 points in single‑core and 12,591 points in multi‑core performance. These numbers come from pre‑release units, but they still offer a good idea of what buyers can expect from the device.

Compared to the M3 iPad Air, which averages roughly 3,048 in single‑core and 11,667 in multi‑core, the M4 model is about 17% and 8-9% faster, respectively.

That difference could lead to snappier app launches, quicker exports, improved responsiveness during everyday workloads, and faster photo editing, among other efficiency improvements. Users upgrading from M1- or M2-powered iPad Airs will obviously see an even more impressive jump.
