Now that attackers can generate fake voices and video frames with easily accessible artificial intelligence tools, traditional knowledge-based authentication and passwords can’t be counted on to secure the enterprise, said Mike Engle, co-founder and chief security officer at 1Kosmos.

"The secret questions are dead. Knowledge-based authentication is now known by anybody," Engle said. Organizations must shift to biometric authentication backed by solid cryptography to verify users effectively.
The future of authentication mirrors real-world identity checks. Face recognition and fingerprint scanning offer the most scalable solutions for billions of users. When suspicious activity appears, the system prompts users to re-verify their identity through biometric scans, he said.
