Could Anthropic Power Siri Instead of OpenAI? Apple Is Considering Both

Apple has had conversations with both companies about adding their LLMs to Siri. The company has asked these firms to train versions of their models that could be tested on Apple's cloud infrastructure. This comes after Apple's rumored interest in buying Perplexity.
Apple's exploration of third-party models is still in the early stages. Amazon-backed Anthropic declined to comment, while Apple and OpenAI did not respond to Reuters' requests, as reported by CNBC. Apple previously announced that AI improvements to Siri would be delayed until 2026, which were earlier delayed to 2025.
At this time, when every major brand, especially Apple's direct rivals, Samsung, Google, and Microsoft, are talking about nothing but AI, Apple concentrated more on other things rather than AI at WWDC.
