Copilot Mode Turns Microsoft Edge Into an AI-Powered Web Browser

As Microsoft puts it, the mode is meant to help users focus on tasks by providing AI assistance that works across open tabs, combines different inputs into one interaction box, and responds to natural voice commands.
When Copilot Mode is turned on, Edge changes its interface to display a single input field in new tabs. This all-in-one field merges chat, search, and navigation tasks. With user permission, Copilot can read and compare information across open tabs to help with research, shopping, travel planning, and similar responsibilities. The assistant can summarize information, suggest next steps, and even complete lightweight actions like making bookings.
