Cloudflare Outage Throws a Wrench in Global Internet Access

Websites worldwide faced intermittent outages Tuesday due to an ongoing problem with technology giant Cloudflare.

Cloudflare's outage on Tuesday disrupted access to a vast array of offerings, from OpenAI, bet365 and X - formerly Twitter - to Grindr, telecoms Virgin Media and EE, and Spotify, according to Downdetector, which crowdsources when users report difficulty accessing a given site. Even when the skeleton of a homepage displayed, in many cases essential content still failed to load. For a while, Downdetector, owned by publisher Ziff Davis, itself remained unreachable.
