Beyond blue lights - how SCAS and Qlik are revolutionizing ambulance maintenance

South Central Ambulance Service (SCAS) ambulances operate 24/7, enduring harsh acceleration, hard braking, and the kind of operational intensity that would destroy most fleet vehicles within months. Yet until recently, these mission-critical vehicles were maintained using the same 12-week schedules designed for heavy goods vehicles – schedules that fail to account for the unique stresses of emergency response. After this was highlighted during Qlik's AI on Tour event by my colleague Katy, I spoke with two panelists to find out more.

Now SCAS is rethinking how it manages its vehicle fleet, not just through maintenance schedules, but by actively applying AI and geospatial data to reduce vehicle failures, improve response times, and ultimately protect lives.
