AMD Ryzen AI 400 CPUs Target Mainstream and Gaming PCs


CES 2026 is underway in Las Vegas, and the big names in tech are unveiling TVs, processors, and other products that will take us through the year. As you can imagine, AI is a strong theme this time around, so it's not surprising that AMD's CEO, Dr. Lisa Su, took the keynote stage to announce that AMD is working to bring "AI everywhere and for everyone."

A key part of that plan rests with the Ryzen AI 400 Series processors, which will appear in mainstream PCs this year. AMD has a full lineup of the CPUs, each with an AMD XDNA 2 neural processing unit (NPU). That NPU is critical to the CPU's AI capabilities and its performance (measured in TOPS) determines whether a processor can be put into a Microsoft Windows CoPilot+ PC.
