AMD May Launch a Double 3D V-Cache CPU With 200W TDP
extremetech.comAMD is rumored to be working on a new flagship processor with 16 cores, dual 3D V-Cache chips, and a higher TDP than its current top CPUs. If true, this would give the chip almost 200 MB of L3 cache to go with its 200 TDP, and could make it the fastest gaming CPU ever made.
Since the launch of AMD's Ryzen 7 5800X3D, its gaming processors equipped with additional L3 cache chips, known as 3D V-Cache, have dominated gaming benchmarks. Today, its 9950X3D and 9800X3D are the fastest gaming CPUs available, but AMD may be working on something even faster. Although it has previously suggested that 3D V-Cache on just one of the eight-core core complex chiplets in its flagship CPUs was worth it, it's possible that it's found a way to add more.
