Amazon’s $20B Pennsylvania Data Center Expansion: ‘Thousands of Good-Paying Jobs’ Expected


Amazon is investing $20B in Pennsylvania to build AI and cloud data centers, creating 1,250 jobs and launching major workforce and community programs.

In what officials are calling “the largest capital investment in Commonwealth history,” Amazon has announced plans to invest at least $20 billion in Pennsylvania to expand its data center infrastructure and advance artificial intelligence innovation.

This expansion will establish multiple innovation campuses across Pennsylvania, beginning with Salem Township in Luzerne County and Falls Township in Bucks County.

“Pennsylvania is competing again—and I’m proud to announce that with Amazon’s commitment of at least $20 billion to build new state-of-the-art data center campuses across our Commonwealth, we have secured the largest private sector investment in the history of Pennsylvania,” said Governor Josh Shapiro in a statement.
