$1,800+ Samsung Refrigerators Start Displaying Ads

Samsung has begun a pilot program that displays ads on Family Hub refrigerators in the United States. An over-the-network update rolled out this week, introducing "promotions and curated advertisements" to Family Hub fridge owners' kitchens. Samsung told Android Authority on Thursday that the program is meant to "enhance everyday value" for its customers.

Family Hub fridge models currently start at $1,800 and max out at an eye-popping $3,500. Though Samsung didn't say which specific Family Hub models will receive the OTN update, if you own a Family Hub-branded refrigerator with a door screen, it's safe to expect some marketing material to appear on it soon.
