Key Features for Visual and Hearing Support

The new framework mandates that OTT broadcasters incorporate specific features to assist users with disabilities. For the visually impaired, platforms are encouraged to provide Audio Descriptions, which offer a verbal narration of visual elements on screen during gaps in dialogue. For those with hearing impairments, the guidelines emphasize the inclusion of Closed Captioning and Subtitles, as well as the integration of Indian Sign Language (ISL) for key content.
